North Heights offers Bible studies for adults, men, women, and seniors and Bible teaching for kids and students.

ADULT BIBLE STUDIES

COLOSSIANS

Wednesdays, September 23–October 14, 6:30–8pm, Arden Hills Room 219
Bill Pratt teaches this Bible study that will deepen your understanding of Paul’s writings to the Colossians through this seminar-type setting with small group discussion. 

You’ll learn:

~ The importance of the truth of the gospel and the supremacy of Christ 
~ How Paul addressed the heresy of Gnosticism (denying the preeminence and supremacy of Christ) which crept in to the church at Colossae
~ How to recognize Gnosticism in our culture today where there is a fusion of beliefs which promise fulfillment without a surrender to Christ
~ How to apply Paul’s powerful teachings on ordering our lives and living for Christ, finding victory in Christ, and becoming a new person 

Each session concludes with intercessory and healing prayers and petitions.

Bill Pratt achieved his BA from Stanford University and his Master of Divinity from Luther Seminary. After servicing as an Air Force Officer, he was a Pastor at East Immanuel Lutheran for over 30 years and was an Adjunct Professor at North Central University in Biblical Studies. Bill is married to his wife, Rita, and has three sons and five grandchildren.

1 Timothy

Genesis

Sundays, beginning September 20, 10:45am, Roseville Fireside Room
Todd Jones leads this in-depth Genesis Bible study. You’ll develop a better understanding of the LORD’s grace and His salvation to mankind. Many translations of the Bible with study notes since the King James Version have provided us the ability to re-examine Genesis and discover what New Testament writers wanted us to understand. Class includes teaching and small group discussion. Spirit-filled seniors (adults 50+) meets weekly for friendship, fun, and Bible study.

Our Bible studies this year will help us:

Senior women (55+) gather for worship, intercessory prayer and Bible study. Worship & Word provides a safe haven where senior women get to know one another and interact with each other on a personal basis while worshiping God and learning from His Word. No nursery available. Psalm 23: The Shepherd with Me

Many women know Psalm 23 by heart but haven’t experienced its power in their lives. This beloved psalm can breathe new life into women who are weary and unsure of their next steps. It’s more than a psalm that comforts in death, it gives confidence in life.

In this seven-session study by Jennifer Rothschild, you’ll:

Wednesday Night Bible Study

It’s Not Supposed to Be this Way

When life throws you a curve ball, do feelings of disappointment conflict with your faith? Fellowship with other women of all ages while you explore this DVD Bible study, “It’s Not Supposed To Be This Way” by Lysa Terkeurst.  

Through this Bible study, led by Luann Pheneger and Nancy Goodmanson, you’ll:

~ Learn how to better process unmet expectations and navigate between expectations and reality
~ Recognize the enemy’s strategies and learn how to stand steadfast in the face of overwhelming difficulty
~ Be encouraged by other women through God’s Word to take the next right step in your faith and dependence on God through trials

ALPHA

Alpha Weekend: Friday–Saturday, November 6–7, Arden Hills or online

Alpha explores the basics of the Christian faith in an open, friendly and informal environment. Weekly sessions include a casual meal, large group announcements, songs and movie, followed by small group time. Groups stay together for food and discussions, allowing friendships to grow. Marriage Course by Alpha

This seven-week class led by Dan and Teresa Hansen is designed to help couples invest in their relationships and build strong marriages. The Marriage Course features new teaching content, creative short films, global stories, sofa couples, and expert insights hosted by Nicky and Sila Lee. LIFE IN HIS PRESENCE

A terrific class for anyone desiring to know more about the present-day work of the Holy Spirit, the gifts of the Holy Spirit, and His presence and power for our daily lives. There will be a time of teaching, Q&A, and time to put the teaching into practice. Celebrate Dance Academy is a Christian values-based dance ministry of North Heights Lutheran Church. CENTERSHOT ARCHERY

Centershot shares the gospel of Jesus using the life skill of archery, and it's a great place to learn archery basics and refine your skills. No experience necessary and all equipment is provided.
