We miss meeting together with you! Leadership has been working on a social distancing worship strategy for when we begin meeting publicly. This planning will include the flow of people coming and going, distancing of seating, worship team spacing, mask wearing, facility cleaning and more, all with your safety in mind. In the meantime, worship with us from your home and engage with each other virtually through the Facebook.com/NorthHeightsLutheranChurch page, virtual small groups and Bible studies and calling each other.

Ruby’s Pantry

North Heights facilitated a successful and well appreciated Ruby’s Pantry food distribution on Saturday, April 25 at our Arden Hills campus. Three-hundred-eighty-five food shares were distributed to the community—nearly double our normal food distribution.

This was the first drive-thru style Ruby’s Pantry we have conducted in order to account for social distancing. Thanks to volunteers, we loaded up to four cars per minute! This would not have been possible without the combined efforts of North Heights volunteers—including many from our Youth ministry and community volunteers from Meals from the Heart. Cub Foods, Lunds and Byerlys, Walmart and Menards provided supplies and Ramsey County Sheriffs department provided traffic control.

One woman, after donating money to cover her food share, handed our volunteer $100 to pay for the next five cars. The volunteer told each of the food share recipients that their share had been paid for. After expressing their gratitude, one participant handed our volunteer $20 to pay it forward.

North Heights is planning the next Ruby’s Pantry for Saturday, May 9.
